Welcome to our MCS InterNETWORKING wiki - a means of collaboration on our Web 2.0 adventures!

What is a wiki?  According to Will Richardson, who wrote Blogs, Wikis, and Podcasts, and Other Powerful Web Tools for Classrooms, "A wiki is a collaborative Webspace where anyone can add content and anyone can edit content that has already been published.  In schools, teachers and students have begun using password protected wikis to create their own textbooks and resource sites."  Wikipedia is the most well known example of a wiki.

This wiki (or workspace) has been created so we, as a school district, can collaborate on and have access to information about blogging, wikis, and other fun (educationally-speaking, of course) Web 2.0 tools.

** If you are an MCS employee and would like to be able to contribute to this wiki (and we'd like you to!), please click on the request access link beside the little blue flag in the sidebar to the right.  Provide your email address and, within one to two days, you will be set up to write to this wiki and will receive an access link via email.

To maneuver to another page of this wiki, just click on one of the page or folder links in the Sidebar section on the right side of your screen or on the any of the blue underlined links embedded in the text.

Feel free to review what is included throughout this wiki and make comments and additions where you deem appropriate.  The information available in this wiki should grow and evolve as does our involvement and understanding of the interactive nature of the internet and how it can be used to further education (ours and our students).  Editing this wiki is as easy as editing a WORD document.  A brief "How to Edit" page is included.  Don't be afraid to make changes to this wiki.  All versions are saved so if someone accidentally deletes something, we can revert back to what the wiki looked like before those edits.  A history of all edits is saved as well.

REQUEST:  If you find information on this wiki that you feel needs to be deleted, please simply highlight it and use the strikethrough button in the edit toolbar to "cross out" the information rather than deleting the material entirely.  In addition, please add a comment to explain why you feel the information should not be used.  This will enable those who follow to see what edits have been made previously.

Example:

www.nolongeraccessible.org - a great website on one of our themes that is no longer accessible (This website is no longer accessible. - Mrs. Dowty)

Now, go look around and see what's here!
